There are numerous admirable traits that a good Tanzanian may possess – honesty, integrity, compassion, among others – but there is one trait that very few good Tanzanians have: courage.

One of the great tragedies of Tanzania is that all the positive critiques toward bad governance amount to very little without courage from leaders, government officers, citizens, and others. The pervasive mentality of UCHAWA, which is increasingly normalized, undermines courage and tears apart the country by instilling a reluctance to address wrongs.

The CAG reports have shed light on numerous instances of government officers embezzling our hard-earned taxes, yet leaders lack the courage to hold them accountable.

The frequent water and electricity outages are simply intolerable. The absence of courage to speak out leaves people going days without bathing and sleeping in the dark.

There are undoubtedly many good Tanzanians but the reason of bad governance is prevailing because few have courage, The same holds true whenever evil takes over a society it is rarely an absence of decent people that enables the spread of evil but It is that very few of those good people have courage.
