105 is like from voi to taveta, or from mombasa to malindi, big distance, but still, am a big reader of bottomline, and the bottom line from that article is that you dont really have an interconected road network as you have been implying here that tz has roads network connecting to all parts, you just have a few long highways.... your bread basket region canot connect to zambia via road, and there is minimun trade of comodities....... thats the bottomline

and what about moza

THE Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication will improve Tanga-Pangani-Saadani road to ensure it is passable all the year round.

This was revealed here yesterday by the Deputy Minister of Works, Transport and Communication, Eng Edwin Ngonyani, when responding to questions from lawmaker Mussa Mbarouk (Tanga Urban-CUF).

The legislator wanted to know how much the government has set aside for the Tanga-Pangani-Saadani road to a tarmac level. In response, Eng Ngonyani stressed that the 5th Phase Government intends to upgrade all roads in the country to tarmac level to ease transport from one region to another.

The Tanga-Pangani-Saadani-Bagamoyo section, stretching 178 kilometres, is part of the regional infrastructure improvement programme covering Malindi-Mombasa-Lunga Lunga/Tanga-Bagamoyo road network.

He said the project is being coordinated by the Secretariat of the East African Community (EAC). Feasibility study and detailed design for the construction of Tanga-Pangani-Bagamoyo road section to the tarmac level started in January 2011and was completed in November last year, the minister said.

"The government in collaboration with the EAC Secretariat is still making efforts to secure funds from the development partners to finance the construction of this important road section," he said, adding that Africa Development Bank(AfDB) has already shown interest to support the project. He further said that procedure to contract a constructor to implement the project will be announced soon after the funds were secured.

From Dar to Bagamoyo, it is ohk

Mind u this is an alternative to Chalinze Dar road that is also to have a 100 km super highway connecting to Kigamboni bridge via Kisarawe district to give a shorter access to Dar port and JNIA! This one might work well with another diversion from Chalinze to envisaged Bagamoyo port!
