In a recent conversation with a friend of mine who suspects her boyfriend doesn't lover her anymore, I joked with her about giving him a love potion. What started out as an innocent joke on my part, turned into my friend revealing a deep, dark and disgusting secret to me. Ironically, as shocked as I was to hear she would do such a thing, I soon found out this is a common practice dating back to the dark ages.
Firstly, what are periods?
Period or menstruation is simply explained as the process where blood and tissue from a woman's uterus is expelled through her vagina, usually occuring monthly. This is the process that seperates girls form women.
What are the benefits of having periods?
When on her periods, a woman's body is naturally cleansed. This is equivalent to detoxing. Her body gets rid of all the harmful toxins which could lead to cardiovascular disease later in life. Hormone regulation is also another benefit of periods.
So now that the technical talk is out the way, let's get back to my friends rather nasty story:
It turns out my friend is one of 'those ladies ' - and trust me there are a lot out there - who believe in the magical powers of period blood.
Her deep, dark and disgusting secret is that she cooked her boyfriend a romantic meal and fed it to him, forgetting to mention that her secret ingredient was her period clots.
Turns out she googled 'love potions' and found one that instructed her to feeding him her period clots. Apparently, the potion is so strong that the man will fall madly in love with you.
Yes, that's nasty and by the looks of it, it didn't work.
Upon further investigation, I came across many articles of women who the same thing and swear it works.
This lady shamelessly says she does it all the time:
“Everyone is saying that am doing the wrong thing by cooking my husband food with my period. Maka why! Let me give u my reason. My auntie has been doing it and she is married for 12 yrs. She and her husband are in peace though they don’t have kids yet but her husband is not even talking of second wife. Since I got married I can beat my chest and say my husband has never misbehaved outside. He practically worships the feet I walk on. I make his food special. I know it’s wrong but I don’t think it’s poisonous. If that is the way my marriage will be intact I have no regrets. I am a very emotional being. I might die if my heart is ever broken. Who are u people to judge me.”

This ladies guilt seems to be catching up:
“He asked me to cook rice for him. I was on my period, i removed my pad and suck it inside water and make sure the blood much in the water, i added my urine into the water and i made stew for him, he came back and ate the food without knowing. My question is, did I do the right thing? Or I over reacted? Should I tell him?because I am feeling very worried and confused.”

Then here's a man's perspective. Obviously, he isn't impressed:
“I have been dating this Italian girl for 2 years now. Today we were just casually talking after phucking and she asked me “do u ever wonder why we fell in love?” I told her I guess it was meant to be. She says she made it so, and I asked her how. She goes on to say that once a month when she’s on her period she puts her menstrual blood in the spaghetti sauce she feeds me. I was phuckin grossed out, immediately started gagging. She told me it was an old secret her Grandma gave her and that she thought I would find it sexy. I couldnt believe this chick. I immediately left after now I’m home.”

Now the last one will make you gag "gobbets of menstruum":
“I have done this often, with uniformly good results. I have directly fed gobbets of menstruum to my lover, from my fingers, as one might feed a pet. This was done to bind him, but to avoid the sneakiness of slipping it into his drinks — i want him to KNOW how much i want him to be mine, and to know that i am working the spell on him right out in the open.”

So it turns out period blood love potions are a real thing. Even in Africa, men are cautioned against accepting certain foods from single women because of it might be a period blood love potion in disguise.
I personally, won't be trying this out ever. As for my friend, I think extreme social distancing needs to be practiced between the two of us. Who knows what she'll feed me?!
Have you tried this? Do you know somebody who has? Does it work? Please leave a comment.
