KDF considered strongest, most disciplined army in the world.

KDF ranked 46Th in The World, 6th in Africa .This is according to the Global Firepower Military. The list was made up of only seven African countries, with Egypt toping the African list. Read more on www.standardmedia.co.ke

ah ah nimeipenda, km looters at westgate can be ranked 6th, TPDFs who have been involved in merely smugling tusks, wwwh they must rank 4th

The issue here is the authenticity of source, does the standard website have that power of assesing military power in the world or in africa? This is not an entity for militia research!

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is considered one of the strongest militaries and most disciplined in the world. According to the African Report magazine, Kenya's is a highly rated African army. The troops train regularly with their British and American counterparts.
"The result, as evidenced by the remarkable discipline of Kenyan soldiers whose offensive against Al-Shabaab by virtue of their collaboration with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), is one of success," says the magazine. Unlike many other soldiers offering peace missions, Kenyan soldiers have not been mentioned in any scandal. Recently, Ugandan soldiers returning from Somalia peace operations shocked President Yoweri Museveni when they told him their commanders might have sold guns and bullets in Mogadishu. Uganda, like Kenya has troops serving in the African Union Peace Mission in Somalia (Amisom). An irritated Museveni chased away all the commanders from the meeting, except the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Katumba Wamala, in order to allow the returning Amisom soldiers to speak out freely.
Take on Al-Shabaab
The Global Firepower Military, an online outlet that provides an analytical display of data concerning today's world military powers ranks Kenya at position 46 in the world and 6 in Africa.
"I agree we have the strongest and the most disciplined army in the world," says retired Army Major John Seii, "What happened at Westgate could easily erode this. Kenyans can lose trust in them which would not be good." Kenya tops in East and Central Africa and ranked above Libya, with Egypt leading in the continent and 14th in the world, followed by Ethiopia, South Africa, Nigeria and Algeria. Only seven African countries made it to the list, with the US, Russia, China, India and the UK making the top five in the world.
The KDF, according to Global Fire Power has only 24,120 active personnel and is one of the smaller forces on the continent; however the nation's strategic location means the Kenyan military has been highly active since its inception.
It is supplied by the US, and has a budget of around $800 million. According to Global Firepower, Kenya has 186 tanks, 12 rocket projectors, 148 aircraft and 78 helicopters. Kenya's military has been involved in several UN peacekeeping missions in Africa and Europe.
They have also worked closely with Somalia's military in order to take on Al-Shabaab and have joined Amisom to further aid their cause.
THE STORY LACKING MANY INGRADIENTS TO JUSTIFY!, ITS SOURCE SEEM TO BE KNOWING NOTHING ABOUT MILITARY INDUSTRY

Global Firepower Military is the one which ranked Kenya, not the standard media.I just felt like making that clarification,

I am impressed by your objectivity keep it up man.Whereas we don't condone the looting at west gate it would be very unfair to judge KDF based on that one incident

I think there the issue has been clarified. Global Firepower is a well known source that is quoted in military Journals.Do you have different facts and from which source?

The issue here is disciplne and intregrity! The smugglers could have done worse had been at westgate!Do you really know what was in westgate my brother.Any guy could have been tempted with cash, Gold rings, and lots of valuables. I mean wet gate was an upmarket shopping mall .However i will not want to strictly Judge the KDF based on that one incident. They have been known to be disciplined in all the peace keeping missions they have gone and this to me was just one incident and not their culture or tradition as opposed to smuggling

Kenya Defence Forces considered strongest, most disciplined army in looting! Well known as "Wazee wa mifuko myeupe"!!

Is there any war or battle in this world KDF fought and won?. Do not mention Somali war here, because there, the war is still going on! Do we guys know what is termed as 'Chocolate Soldiers'?.

Haiwezekani!!!!!! Can someone remind again the criteria used. And please shouldnt be discipline and intergrity, maybe budget

Ab-Titchaz,

..naamini tukio hilo lingetokea Tanzania askari wetu wange-behave kama walivyo-behave askari wa Kenya.

..mbona hapa Tanzania kunapotokea ajali majeruhi huwa wanaporwa mali zao kabla hawajaokolewa?

..katika suala hili naomba tusiwacheke wenzetu bali tumuombe MUNGU atunusuru na janga lililowakuta wenzetu.

It is unfortunate that presedent Kenyatta defended looting by KDF publically.
In my view, KDF is not disciplined and very poor tactically. It cant click in my mind, in a hostage situation at Westgate, KDF responded with tankers and grenades... ridiculous!!! only to learn that they were only 4 terrorists and all of them escaped.
