Youve kissed a few frogs and finally found a man is who is funny, handsome and charming. But is it real love or is he taking you for a ride? Find out 1.) He showers you with compliments the first time he meets you
Everyone wants their man to be besotted from the word go, but if he seems too good to be true he probably is. The player is desperate to impress and knows how to chat up the girls. But be warned, although he might seem head over heels but hell probably be draped over a new girl next Friday night.
Test him: The player expects girls to crumble at his feet. Ignore his compliments and try to engage him in other conversation. If hes not interested in discussing anything but your beautiful smile, walk away pronto.
2.) He makes excuses
After a three week phone call hiatus the player is full of apologies and excuses. His grandma died. The cats got leukaemia. There was an explosion in the office and he spent the last 17 days trapped under his desk eating cold baked beans to stay alive. Or maybe the other girl he was dating dumped him and hes come crawling back to you.
Test him: If youve been pining during his absence, it might be time to confess you like him. Honesty might be scary but youll soon find out if hes genuinely interested or stringing you along. NB: Dont go overboard. He needs to know youre interested, not secretly picking out china patterns for the wedding.
3.) His ex-girlfriends are all crazy
For the most part, we women folk are of fairly sound mind. So if your new man has a string of crazies in his wake, it may be him thats made them behave this way. The player loves attention and will say anything to keep the ladies coming back. But when he loses interest its like flicking a switch off, leaving his ex- love interests justifiably confused.
Test him: Ask him why these ex-girlfriends are crazy. If hes unforthcoming with answers, skirts around the issue or tells some unlikely stories be very wary.
4.) He doesnt make plans
The player is reluctant to make dates in case a better offer comes his way. Organising events in advance would feel like too much commitment so he prefers to make last minute plans. Whilst it may be flattering to hear from him on a Friday night, dont be fooled. If he was that desperate for a date he would have booked it a week or two in advance.
Test him: Tell him you dont want to rush things and would like to spend some time getting to know him. Suggest booking theatre tickets in a few weeks time and see if he can commit.
