Coca cola To Move HQ From Upperhill Nairobi and Sell The property

Coca cola will always have a special place in people's hearts.
Soda zote za Pepsi hutaste funny.
Weka Fanta na Mirinda kwa shelf moja, na hakuna ambaye ana akili timamu ambaye atanunua Mirinda.

Kama Pepsi iko mbele ya Coca cola Tanzania, it's all about their distribution and not the product.

Beverage maker Coca-Cola will sell or rent out its regional offices in Nairobi’s Upperhill area 10 years after the offices were opened.
The offices, which act as Coca-Cola headquarters in East and Central Africa, sit on four acres and was constructed at a cost of Sh700 million.

Going by the current value of the shilling to the dollar, the premises can be valued to Sh1.03 billion.
According to a statement from the soft drink manufacturer, the decision to exit Upperhill is in line with their Vision 2020 on workplace agenda.
“The new office location will allow the company achieve a new modernised space built to suit needs of a more agile, and even faster paced business,” Coca Cola general manager Ahmed Rady said.
Randy further said that the decision is a preparation to create an environment that will inspire its workforce over the next 10-20 years.
The firm hopes that the step to shift will create room for them to promote and spur new developments in creativity, innovation and digital transformation.
Speaking during the unveiling of the Upperhill offices in 2008, Coca-Cola company chairman Neville Isdell said they chose Kenya as a host of its offices due to improved communication infrastructure.
Currently a leader in the beverages industry, the company provides employment to an estimated 13,000 people directly in bottling activities and a further 700,000 through auxiliary services within the supply chain.

About CCBA

Who we are
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the tenth largest Coca-Cola bottling partner worldwide and the biggest on the African continent. We serve 12 countries in sub-Saharan Africa including South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, Mayotte, Comoros, Swaziland, Botswana and Zambia. The latter three countries will be integrated into CCBA’s operations over the next 12 to 18 months.

We boast a diverse pan-African footprint with more than 30 bottling plants serving over 450,000 outlets across the continent. CCBA employs more than 14,000 people and enjoys the number one market position in all of our 12 territories.

CCBA is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy that is aligned with The Coca-Cola Company’s 2020 Vision and will be supported through investment in manufacturing, sales, distribution and marketing. We aim to be the leading Coca-Cola bottler in Africa, delivering profitable and sustained growth through increased availability and access to Coca-Cola beverages across Southern and East Africa.

Our growth objectives
With a rich history and heritage in Africa, CCBA’s scale, complementary capabilities and resources will be deployed via a three-part strategy aimed at accelerating top-line growth:

1. We will take advantage of the opportunities presented by the favourable economic and demographic trends in Southern and East Africa where per capita consumption of soft drinks still lags that of other emerging markets.

2. We will leverage our scale in South Africa, which accounts for half of CCBA’s workforce and 69% of its volumes, to compete effectively and accelerate growth.

3. We will build the fundamental capabilities we need across our Southern and East African operations to accelerate sustainable growth in these markets while remaining ready to support further consolidation efforts.

Our goal to build a stronger business can only be achieved through the support and long-term prosperity of our customers. A stronger, more successful Coca-Cola system in Africa will create greater shared value for the business as well as the communities we serve across the value-chain through job creation, skills development and support for small-to-medium sized enterprises. By focusing on accelerating growth and social development in our value chain and making clear commitments on waste, energy, water and land use, we are leading the way as a responsible business in Africa.

Equally as important are our employees who are at the heart of our business. We are committed to investing in their growth and development to ensure that they are empowered to enhance their skills and capabilities.

History
In late 2014 the Coca-Cola Company and SABMiller plc reached an agreement with Gutsche Family Investments (GFI), the majority shareholder of Coca-Cola Sabco, to combine the bottling operations of their non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages businesses in Southern and East Africa.

This partnership between two of the world’s most prominent beverage brands along with their emerging market bottling partners made for a compelling business proposition. This was recognised by South African regulators when they approved the merger in October 2015. CCBA began operating as a legal entity later that year/early the following year.

The creation of CCBA involved the merger of:
1. SABMiller’s Coca-Cola bottling franchise (ABI) and its Appletiser bottling businesses in South Africa, together with its soft drinks businesses in Comoros and Mayotte, as well as its water businesses in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.

2. GFI’s Coca-Cola Fortune in South Africa and its other African Coca-Cola bottling businesses in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania and Uganda.

3. The Coca-Cola Company’s South African soft drinks bottling businesses, Coca-Cola Canners, Valpré, and Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages.

In Phase II, it is intended that SABMiller contributes its Swaziland soft drinks bottling business, and the soft drinks bottling businesses of its listed subsidiaries in Botswana and Zambia.

The combined footprint of the African bottling interest of Coca-Cola and SABMiller, coupled with the on-the-ground expertise of the SABCO and Shanduka businesses which have shown deftness in understanding and growing in emerging markets, resulted in a more streamlined and efficient Pan African bottling operation. This enables CCBA to best serve its consumers and communities in Africa through greater variety, broader availability and better value.

Pepsi ipo juu...???
Haina hata taste. Ni hovyo kabisa. TZ coca haina soko compared to pepsi. Ask anyone from TZ

😂😂😂😂umeiyona na wewe hiyo zero brain. Anaongelea swala la distribution. So we conclude that in TZ Coca is a very small beverage company😂😂😂👍👍👍
Haahaaa eti zero brain

You mean the same Coca-Cola that recently built another $70million plant to process fresh juice in Nairobi?

_____
Coca-Cola has opened a new Sh7 billion processing line at its Embakasi plant in Nairobi.
The line, which has a production capacity of 28,000 bottles per hour, has seen the creation of 24 additional jobs at the plant so far.
“The natural hotfill line process largely takes out preservatives unlike all our factories in Kenya. Instead, the product goes into the bottle at very high temperatures,” said Daryl Wilson, the managing director for Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) Kenya.
This is the first processing line that will use the hotfill technology in Kenya and the second in East Africa after another one, which CCBA owns in Uganda.
The line will be used to process fresh juices, iced teas and sports drinks.
Coca-Cola sources fruits from local farmers. For the newest product, mango with bits, the fruit comes from Murang’a.
“The Public Procurement and Disposal Act will give close attention to the requirement of the 40 per cent local content policy which Coca-Cola is already exceeding,” said President Uhuru Kenyatta who presided over the launch. Coca-Cola now opens Sh7bn line at city plant - VIDEO
