One of the greatest challenges faced by humans in their interactions with the details of life is the sayings, discourses, and concepts socially entrenched, which have gained legitimacy in dominating the realm of human thought. Due to their deep-rooted warnings in social consciousness, utilizing all means and mechanisms, they have become as if they are definitive sayings, completed and whole, leaving no room for reinterpretation or critique. These sayings, in part of their operational mechanisms, work to define the horizon of thought concerning the subjects they address, thus asserting their authority and dominance over the general context of thinking. Disrupting these sayings is considered one of the primary tasks of critics and producers of thought.
I sensed this within myself when I looked at a lit candle, and my mind condensed a single vision represented by this candle—a vision that has been entrenched and directly linked to it: "Parents are like a candle, burning themselves to illuminate their surroundings." I quickly became aware and asked myself, is this what the candle said or what it could say? This attempt I wish to share with you is an effort to extract from this candle many insights that go beyond the confines of the entrenched saying:

- The inner self of a person, with its moral and value dimensions, is fundamental and forms the essential aspect of human identity; it is the light, just as the wick of the candle is to its body.
- Internal psychological disturbances and the inability to manage oneself are responsible for burning the body with its various organs, just as the wick does in the body of the candle.
- Those close to a person, who dwell in their depths, are usually responsible for their deepest pains, just as the wick resides in the depths of the candle and is responsible for burning it.
- Excessive thinking exhausts the body, just as the wick burns the body of the candle.
- When the mind is active and the brain is working, and achievements emerge, they spread around and become evident to all, just as the lit top of the candle spreads its light around.
- When the brain's function is impaired, a person becomes devoid of achievement and remains unchanged, just as the unlit top of the candle remains as it is without any alteration.
- A person needs a long time to build their visions, concepts, and significant achievements; even when a person starts to share their achievements and influence those around them, they may have reached an age when the body begins to deteriorate, just as the burning wick starts to spread its light while the body begins to wear down and melt.
- Significant achievements require a person to remain standing, steadfast, and diligent, not succumbing to laziness, just as the candle spreads its light to the widest extent when it is upright and extinguishes when it falls to the ground.
