The Blurred Bright Future: Mr President Don't Shut Down Our Bunge.

"Information is power". This slogan or lets say an English Saying has been used purposely to ensure that people have a right to access information. The chosen title which I have decided to talk about is a result of ongoing chaotic situation in our Bunge(Tanzanian Bunge to be specific) . The prohibition of airing live programs from the Bunge and being aware that the citizen need to see or hear what exactly is going on in their House is totally disagreeable. In any Democratic State, mass media play a great role to uphold accountability and transparancy. Citizens need to know exactly what and how this independent body/Bunge co-work with the executive or how the principle of "Checks and Balances" is exercised by both bodies. It's pity that the viability of democracy especially in developing countries like Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi et cetera is threatened by the rulers themselves under the umbrellas of different created situations like the so called protecting the majority interests(As what the rulers advocate for). Recently in Tanzania for-instance, the government without any consultation from the MPs has abruptly stopped through it's public media the TBC airing live broadcast of Bunge sessions. This is almost denying people's rights to access information. The reasons behind this scenario is unconvincing, well we need to spend properly our fiscal allocation by cutting down over expenditures but to prevent news to our citizens is a shame! Mr President, we have seen a bright future ahead, your leadership is promising especially to those engulfed with poverty, those who are downtrodden by the unforgettable mischief makers and who day and night pray for you. Mr President I have a confidence in you because we needed a person of your character to lead us to a right path ... Historically, some of the prominent world leaders who were seen as Messiahs to their people turned their backs to the same people and became tyrants! Yes, I can see the bright future but it's blurred! Mr President please, free the Bunge let your citizen get information through live broadcasting by TBC!
