Kenya’s Wealth and Poverty Status
Kenya has a GDP per capita of about $1,143.10. Kenya is one of the African countries characterized by high rates of poverty.
Even with these rates of poverty, Kenya still has a number of the wealthiest people in Africa. The nation is largely defined by inequality which began with irregular resource distribution.
Unlike Tanzania, the little fertile Land ownership is surprisingly the most outstanding setback which was deeply cultivated by the founders of the nation including Moi regime.
A small group of people owns huge shares of land while a considerable number of Kenyans remain homeless peasants. Large land elite directly controls most commercial, industrial, and political affairs in the country.
As an outcome of this huge rift between the haves and the haves not , Kenya continues to be among the underdeveloped nations in Africa. Tribalism remains the main challenge facing Kenya as one of the developing countries.
