Kenyan scholar translates entire Quran from Arabic to Luo

As muslims all over the world continue to mark the Eid celebrations, a university student from Egypt has come up with good news to members of the Luo community who profess the Islamic faith but are not conversant with the Arabic language.

The student, Professor Omar Al Bashir has translated the entire Quran from Arabic to Luo, the first ever in East and Central Africa. The translation has already been approved and certfied by the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims- SUPKEM.

Quran Mopuodhi is a state of the art, well and carefully translated work in a language spoken mainly by East African. its a language of the dominant tribe in the region spoken by over 10,000,000 human beings. many foreign students from as far as Japan have shown interest and have travelled to that area just to study the language. its the language of the father go the current sitting President of the United States of America. you don't want to miss this one out.

seems you have never been out of central province, well google is your friend, magufuli speaks fluent luo, and he is from geita, if you did a little geography do your estimates and come back again buddy.
 
So far as i can tell having been to the 3 main EAC countries, they're present in significant numbers in all 3.
Am not a Muslim, but i always appreciate scholars and their efforts, and i can assure you translations are no child's play. So hongera to the guy who did it, and may he use it for the right purposes.
 
Luos though, jana kuna mwingine niliona ktn news ati he has come up with luo alphabets, just like Ethiopians have a unique alphabet for amharic.
He says africans need to stop relying on Latin alphabets, but i think its too late now.

Thus, the Luo group of peoples are found in the Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and the Congo.

I could say that it's probable, though not proven. Maybe only Luhya land can compete with that record since even politicians from the 2 regions are mainly doctors and professors
