IDF imethibitisha kufanya shambulio la anga katika mji wa pwani wa Sidon, Lebanon, asubuhi ya leo, na kumuua kamanda mwandamizi wa Hamas.
Shabaha ya shambulio hilo, Mohammed Shaheen, alikuwa mkuu wa operesheni za Hamas nchini Lebanon, kwa mujibu wa jeshi na Shin Bet.
IDF inasema Shaheen alihusika katika kupanga mashambulizi ya kigaidi dhidi ya raia wa Israel kwa ufadhili na mwongozo wa Iran.
“Shaheen alikuwa ni mtu muhimu katika intelijensia za hamas na alihusika katika vita vyote kwa kusimamia mashambulizi mbalimbali ya kigaidi, ikiwa ni pamoja na mashambulizi ya roketi dhidi ya maeneo ya Israel,” IDF imeongeza.

The IDF confirms carrying out an airstrike in the coastal Lebanese city of Sidon this morning, killing a senior Hamas commander.
The target of the strike, Mohammed Shaheen, was the chief of Hamas’s operations in Lebanon, according to the military and Shin Bet.
The IDF says Shaheen was involved in advancing terror attacks against Israeli civilians, with Iranian funding and guidance.
“Shaheen was a significant source of knowledge within the organization and was involved throughout the war with advancing various terror attacks, including rocket fire on the Israeli home front,” the IDF adds.
