In a visionary move to address the pressing need for improvement in Tanzania's education system, extensive plans should be taken to unveil, revamp and elevate the quality of education from primary to university level over the next decade. Recognizing the vital role that education plays in shaping a nation's future.
Tanzania should embark on a comprehensive journey to transform its educational landscape, ensuring that every learner has access to a high-quality education that will prepare them for success in the modern world.
The ambitious plan begins with a focus on improving primary education. Recognizing that strong foundations are crucial, the government should invest heavily in infrastructure, teacher training, and curriculum development. By ensuring that primary schools have well-equipped classrooms, adequate facilities, and a conducive learning environment.
There are some schools which have few teachers but students are very many such that all the teachers cannot accommodate them, the government should make a plan to employ more teachers as others have graduated but they have no permanent jobs which has turned and forced others into self-employment.
Most primary schools have more than 1000 pupils which forces them to divide them into two categories for those who will go to school from 7:00 am to 11:00 am and the 2nd group from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm this procedure can’t give our pupils a quality education as most teacher may not be able to finish the syllabus.
The goal is to create a solid framework for future educational progress. Additionally, extensive teachers training programs should be implemented to enhance pedagogical skills and ensure that educators are equipped to deliver quality education to young learners.
Building upon the strengthened foundation at the primary level, the Tanzanian government should aim to boost secondary education. One key aspect of this development plan is to expand access to secondary schools, particularly in rural and underserved areas. By constructing new schools and improving existing ones, more students will have the opportunity to continue their education beyond primary level. Therefore, the curriculum should be revised to align with global standards, incorporating a broader range of subjects and practical skills to better prepare students for higher education or vocational training.
By Recognizing the importance of technical and vocational skills in driving economic growth and reducing unemployment rates, Tanzania's development plan will place a strong emphasis on reforming technical and vocational education and training (TVET). The aim is to create a robust and versatile TVET system that caters to the evolving needs of industries and will equip students with the skills demanded by the job market. By partnering with industry leaders and providing state-of-the-art facilities, this will poise to nurture a highly skilled workforce that will contribute to the nation's development.
The Tanzania commission university should review its curriculum whereby they should consider the credit transfer as per cumulative GPA at the university. If a person has a certificate and diploma he/she should be given credit transfer to study bachelor degree for 2 years but not 3 years. By doing this our country will sell out its education to the world as it will attract many students from different nations in the world.
To address the perceived shortcomings in the university system, the government should be committed to a comprehensive overhaul in higher education. The plan should include expanding access to higher education institutions, improving funding mechanisms, and enhancing the quality of academic programs. Collaborating with reputable international universities will be sought to exchange knowledge and expertise, while research and innovation will be prioritized to drive advancements in various fields and entrepreneurship among students.
The government should actively seek partnerships with international organizations, philanthropists, and development agencies to secure the necessary funding and expertise. By leveraging external resources and knowledge, this will aim to accelerate the pace of educational development and ensure the successful implementation of ambitious plans.
Therefore, if the government of Tanzania will be committed to transform its education system over the next ten years, it will signal an exciting new chapter in the nation's development. Through strategic investments, comprehensive reforms, and collaborative partnerships, whereby through that the government will elevate the quality of education from primary to university level, providing its citizens with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the global arena. With determination and unwavering dedication, which will pave the way for a brighter future, where every individual will have access to a high-quality education that unlocks their full potential.
