Why Kenya Is Not A Middle Income Economy

You argue in a rather childish manner. The interest of the opposition should be the succcess of the country; not what they are doing. In the end, after all they have done no one benefits anything.
You are 100 % spot on on that the oppositions interest should be that the country succeeds...and how do the opposition do that??

Now you are just being short-sighted;

1.) As you have clear stated, there is a socio-economical blueprint laid out up to 2030, you can't credit the forefounders at the expense of the people who actually seek funding and carry out the set objectives. If I was to argue as you have, I'd ask you why Jubilee in under 4 years has done what the grand qualition could do in 1o years.

2.) One of the reasons I have my setbacks on the opposition is that they are always quick to point out the government's fails yet they themselves have no solutions to the problem.
Being an alternative gvt, they should show Kenyas how they are the better option by giving workable solutions to some of the problems the current gvt seems not to have solutions to.

IMHO, the current opposition is better at keeping the working gvt in check rather than being in power.
Here is Raila's suggestion/solution to help those sticken with drought...LETS WAI AND IF JUBILEE WILL EVEN CONSIDER ANY ONE OF THEM...

BREAKING: Raila Moves to SAVE Kenyans, OFFERS Uhuru Solutions to Address DROUGHT Emergency Interventions

FEBRUARY 12, 2017 8 COMMENTS

PRESS STATEMEN BY RT. HON RAILA ODINGA: EMERGENCY INTERVENTIONS TO SAVE LIVES:

Kenyans have today woken up to media reports that the prices of basics like maize flour, milk, tomatoes, cooking oil, onions and sukuma wiki have hit a new high last seen in the drought of 2009. This is in addition to the deepening drought that has claimed lives across the country while the spending power dwindles.

It is clear that the declaration of drought and famine emergency by the government will achieve little in the immediate future coming as it did against the background of internal contradictions within the government.

On February 6, 2017, only days before the President declared the famine a disaster and appealed for help, the Deputy President assured the country that there is enough food for everyone.
These internal contradictions indicate a lack of coherence and preparedness on the part of the government and point to the real possibility of a prolonged suffering of Kenyans.

For pastoralists, the policy of buying animals in desperation and slaughtering them will hurt economically in the long run. We must try to save these animals rather than slaughter them so as to ensure pastoralists do not start from zero and have a viable economy after this drought.

Towards this end, we urge the government to immediately embark on the following:

1. Open up all idle government lands that have pasture and allow pastoralists to move in and graze their cattle. Government agricultural extension officers should be on the ground to manage the movement of animals on these farms.

2. The government must appeal to our citizens with huge tracts of idle land with grass or hay and water to be their brothers’ keepers and allow herders to access those farms under the watch of agricultural officers to save livelihoods.

3. Negotiate with the big ranchers and pay them to allow pastoralists to seek pasture on their land. Government agricultural extension officers should also assist in this exercise.

4. Use government trucks particularly in the military to move animals from the fields of death to the government and private ranches.

5. Deploy military water bowsers to get water to the animal populations where water resources have dried up.

6. Move animal fodder like hay to the animals that are too weak to move or be moved.

For the rest of the population, the government must immediately undertake the following emergency interventions to alleviate suffering before the food aid comes:

1. The State must mop up all the food that some of our farmers are still holding on to in anticipation of higher prices. The National Cereals and Produce Board must be instructed to buy such produce at a minimum of Ksh 4000. This should yield reasonable amounts of food to be distributed immediately as relief.

2. Immediately set up emergency feeding and medical centres in the most afflicted areas to which Kenyans facing starvation should be moved into and catered for. It is not of much assistance to drop dry rations to people on the verge of death and ask them to prepare food. A lot of these Kenyans are too weak to even cook.

3. Forge a working partnerships with the civil society, community based organisations and non-governmental organisations. These organisations usually have faster response times than government bureaucracy and will save more people in dire situations than government administrators. Civil society organizations that deal with disaster also have better trained personnel to handles the most extreme of cases.

4. Immediately establish a record keeping system of pastoralists stocks and the animals they lose in the drought. Restocking these herds must be the first priority when the rains return. Drought relief must be about both the saving of lives and the saving of livelihoods.
In all these measures, the government would achieve more and relieve suffering faster by relying on the precision, discipline and efficiency of our military.

why are some kenyans here (probably those coming from the central part of kenya) go against Juakali1980 who is also a Kenyan?.

is it because he he is speaking the truth?.

Middle-income countries (MICs) are nations with a per-capita gross national income in 2012 between $1,036 and $12,615. Middle-income countries (MICs) are one of the income categories that the World Bank uses to classify economies for operational and analytical purposes.

You've got to love Kenyans. Did you know that after toiling like crazy between 2002 and 2007. Kibaki was told to have done nothing for Kenya and needed to be sent home.
Uhuru must have learnt from that. He has focussed on political success. Isn't giving raila alot of room to politic and fill the political space as kibaki did. I think in Uhuru, Raila gets his match. More like a checkmate if you ask me.
Leo huyu aseme jambo, kabla jua kutua, he gets an apt and swift response. Two very energetic politicians.
So in a nutshell, Kenyans do not like development otherwise they would have voted overwhelmingly for kibaki in 2007. They instead use development to settle political scores.

What truth??

HOW BAD is Uhuru Jubilee Regime, How ANGRY are Kenyans? Here Is WHAT Kiambu Voter Thinks

By Emmanuel Njoroge
UHURUTO HAVE SIMPLY TURNED KENYA INTO HELL When you witness how Uhuruto and their cabals are looting Kenya, you don’t have to think of hell being elsewhere. Don’t even waste your prayers for God to save you from hell when at the same time you pray for Uhuruto to continue looting (or is it ruling?). It is like praying for God to become the King of hell or Satan to become the king of heaven. Neither works!

(1) It is hell for uhuruto to charge Kenyans Sh828.6 million per km of SGR while Tanzanians are being charged Sh284 million per km of SGR that is twice as fast and electric. At Tanzanian SGR standard, Kenya’s SGR (a much more inferior vintage) would have costed Kenya Sh155.4 billions, not Sh414.3 billion. Thus, Uhuruto conspired to loot Kenyans a whooping 259 Billions in a single project. Looting is twice the value of the project itself.

(2) It is hell for uhuruto to declare famine a national disaster after charging each of the 2.5 million starving people Sh 110,000 for food security via the Galana-Kulalu project and delivering a bag of maize at an exorbitant cost of over sh 7,000.

(3) It is hell that those who are not spared of famine exploitation are left to the vagaries of disease exploitation after uhuruto conned doctors through a CBA that they had no desire to implement. Doctors have been conned, 1.5 billion set for children immunization has been looted. 5.7 billion set for maternal healthcare has been looted by # relaThieves. Much more has been looted from HIV/AIDS victims.

(4) It is hell that Billions belonging to the youths via NYS has been looted by uhuruto’s accomplices and proxies while youth unemployment spirals beyond 40% (only equivalent to war-torn countries).

(5) It is hell that every other mega project engineered by Uhuruto is a scandal to loot. Ministries, State Corporations and Parastatals have just become cash cows for Uhuruto’s looting enterprise.

(6) It is hell that Uhuruto are planning a 2.7 trillion budget yet the Auditor General has specifically emphasized that 1/3 of this budget is looted and only 1% of it is put to effective use.

(7) It is hell that Uhuruto have subjected Kenyans to debt-slavery that runs up to year 2085 with over 40% of their economic output being directed to service these loans procured with the sole intent of being looted.

(8) It even more of hell to imagine that such relentless thugs are shamelessly preparing themselves to continue looting beyond 2017. A regime that steals from desperate youths, expectant mothers, victims of famine, the sick and dying can only be a regime from hell. It is a worse hell that a significant population of its inhabitants have been indoctrinated with tribal fear and hypnotized to engage in ritualistic demonic worship of these merchants of strife, famine, disease, ignorance, poverty and death

SRG ya TZ is still on paper. SRG ya Kenya will be electrified later. Kenya land is owned by individuals, making the whole isht more expensive then TZ. Read somewhere that land in Tanzania is owned by the government. I know, there must be corruption, but that can explain why it is expensive when you compare it to Tanzania

Nobody cares what you are. All I can see are salty anti-government posts, which I agree has been bad when you compare it to Kibaki's govt and anti-Kikuyu. Also a Raila fanatic. You should encourage your friends to register so that you can kick Uhuru out of rather than starting salty threads here

This is the type of talk I was hoping we'd have. Thumbs up. This is my ideal opposition kind of gvt. If only they had started earlier.

Absolutely not. He should speak the whole truth. Not fragments.
Personally, I'd care less about the person who occupies the highest post. What I'm interested in is what they have to offer the country.
