The English of President Magufuli of Tanzania

I managed to carefully listen to President Magufuli addressing the EAC heads of State. His english is neither good nor bad but it can be better.

President Magufuli speaks SwahiEnglish, a language nowhere to find. As a matter of fact, President Magufuli needs a 6 month extra english lessons to catch up with his counterparts in the region.

I understand why he didn't attend the Davos Conference in Switzerland, the fear is enorm if you can't express or hold bilateral sessions with your colleagues in a language that yourself you don't manage.

I also understand why he invited all ambassadors to the state house yet he didn't appear. He ended hiding himself underneath of the state house tables somewhere in the house.

His level of english communications is too low. This is another major blow for Tanzanians after Kikwete finding himself in the same situation in his presidency.

Really the President has limited English vocabularies! I am horrible on how is going work with an International forums!

Wewe chizi kweli, hivi tunahitaji maendeleo au English. Mbona jk alikuwa hajui kabisa english lakini still amekuwa rais.
We need development, rais wa China hajui lugha yeyote zaidi ya kichina na still anazungumza na wenzake na wanaelewana.
Bahati mbaya sana nimemsikiliza vizuri rais hotuba yake yote. He spoke a very good English lakini kinachomuathiri my president ni mothertongue language. Otherwise he speak a standard English with good pronunciation. Acheni ujinga ukawa baada ya kushindwa mmekuwa mkifuatilia vitu vidogo vidogo baada ya kukosa hoja. Mwacheni rais afanye kazi njema

English ni lugha tu kama zilivyo lugha nyingine, nyie mnaojiona mnajua English imewaaaidia nini? Kwani marais wote duniani wanajua kuongea English? Acheni ujinga fanyeni kazi. Magufuli ni Mwanasayansi, na naamini wengi wenu mnaomkejeri hata hammfikii hata kidogo bali ni chuki tu!

Halafu, kama Kiingereza si cha muhimu hivyo kwa nini tunakitumia?

Tunakitumia mahakamani, mashuleni, serikalini, na kwingineko.

Halafu kuna majinga majinga humu ambayo hata Kiswahili hayakijui vizuri yanajifanya kana kwamba kutumia Kiingereza ni kutukuza ukoloni.

Mbona hatuyaoni yakiandamana kupinga matumizi yake kwenye hizo sehemu?

Ukweli ni kwamba Magufuli haimudu vizuri hiyo lugha na wala hakuna ubaya wowote ule.

Atumie tu Kiswahili ambacho kidogo anakimudu vizuri kulinganisha na Kiingereza.

Kweli Rais kiingereza chake hakipo kwenye viwango vya juu lakini hata wewe unaandika kama mtoto wa darasa la pili.
