In Developing and developed world, donation does not mean exactly, the way it applies in your AID world, donation comes in form of Skilled man power, Technological donations or sharing, Equipment and material donations.

To make you understand, here Uhuru was attending technology and equipment donations towards making Mombasa, Kisumu, Nakuru and Eldoret to have the exact security technology as that in China.

Hope you understand. I know such things are of higher level than you guys can comprehend but just try, that is the easiest way i can put it.

I mean Kenya being a lower middle income is still receiving donations, donation of food, donation of medicine, donation of police equipment, even donation from EU in the form of tax relief with EPA contract. Hata kama unasema sisi we're still on the AID list, lakini we're punching above our weight, feed ourselves, and pay our bills, buy our assets with our own money, even having a last say who can trade with us under what rules.

Speed is one thing, debts is the other. The level of debts piled on future Kenyan generation is no where to be compared in Africa. I can guarantee you, the future Kenyan generation will be less fortune than their Tanzanian counterpart. Even now it comes a time a Kenyan finance minister fails to make repayment without borrowing more money only to pass it on to the previous lender.

Kenya has drought now, has shortage of food, shortage of fresh water, the growth projection has been cut. I'm very much sure the author couldn't have predicted that 6yrs early. When it comes to aid, yes Kenya can look after herself but only if you do away with people the likes of Wainguru and co.

Looking back on the area were he said 40% Tanzania budget rely on aid, that isn't the case today. With over $16 billion 2017/18 budget 'minus' $1.4 billion is hardly a 40%, you can read it for yourself on the links below.

One question i might ask you, are those loans being taken and they are converted to perishable things or fashion???

Something should hit your mind that those loans are being used directly to develop infrastructure that can pay for itself.

As they are paying for themselves, they are enhancing economic activities in other sector. So the benefits are felt across the economic sphere in the country.

The loans will not be payed by the taxes, but from the revenues they generate!

SGR, the revenue from freight, passengers, Leased spaces in the stations etc, A fraction will be used to pay its loan for 10 years. The goodness is no one will feel the effect as revenues will be from the same project.

That is the plan of all the projects in Kenya, no loan has been taken to build a government office of buy state or military equipment, they are all being taken on things that will generate revenue and pay for themselves.

That was a 2011 article, but doesnt make it irrelevant in our economic situation today. You have only mentioned drought as the reason for Kenya degenerating into an aid dependant countryy, however this is not the first time Kenya has gone thru this, and within those 6yrs it has expirienced myriads of challenges that could have possibly devasted its economy. But thru it all, it has persevered.

Is there a year that has passed without Kenya experiencing drought? And if your point ia that this year and the last had been worse, Tanzania too experienced the problem, not just Kenya.
Kenya economy has been growing despite the challenges. The effect of drought has only had a marginal dent on the growth projections, merely 0.5%.

And the situation is not as dire as u painting in your description about water and food shortages.
