BRAC is looking for new members to join its East Africa Research and Evaluation Unit (REU), which is an in-house but independent facility supporting BRAC’s existing development programmes. The primary responsibility of this Unit is to generate knowledge on the relevance and effectiveness of BRAC’s operations in East Africa i.e. Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan. The vision for this Unit is to go beyond evaluation of BRAC programmes and make significant contributions in the national development agenda through rigorous, relevant and well communicated knowledge.

Job Description

BRAC REU is looking to hire Field Coordinators, who will be primarily responsible for the logistical coordination and supervision of field studies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery and collection of questionnaires to and from the field
  • Assist with the recruitment of enumerators
  • Facilitate trainings for enumerators
  • Supervise data collection conducted by enumerators
  • Cross-check questionnaires and give feedback to enumerators
  • Update researchers/project leader about the challenges of data collection
  • Facilitate procurement of survey materials
  • Any other task, as given by the supervisor (may assist with research, report writing and data analysis)

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in any discipline
  • High academic performance evidenced in GPA score
  • Research experience
  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral
  • High attention to detail
  • Demonstrated problem solver
  • Strong team player
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates strong sense of responsibility
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform well under pressure
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the country, as required by work assignments
